Music meets Arts: BEON1X Festival initiates Europe's largest art cluster
The sonorous BEON1X Open Mind Music Festival ended its two-week debut in Cyprus with a record number of 16,000 fans visiting the venue on the gorgeous beach of Larnaca. As the largest electronic music festival on an island and one of the biggest events this fall in Europe, the first stage of a unique international socio-cultural project was opened in Cyprus, which is expected to become one of the largest art clusters in the world.
The return of festivals and live events culminated this year with the launch of BEON1X Open Mind Music Festival, a brand new electronic music festival concept held in Larnaca, Cyprus from September 23-25 and September 30-October 2. BEON1X boasts a world-class program with over 40 names: Carl Cox, Boris Brejcha, Jamie Jones, Luciano, Paul Kalkbrenner live, Satori live, Sasha & John Digweed, Sven Väth, Deborah De Luca, Chelina Manuhutu, Fatima Hajji, Guy J and many more performed under the open sky and glittering fireworks. Directly by the sea, a backdrop with different stages, bars, food trucks and a make-up area by MAC was created here, which made a lasting impression on its guests with over 20,000 square meters of dance floor located directly by the sea on Larnaca's CTO beach. The main stage was decorated with 10 light and image panels and huge hands of the installation "La creazione di Adamo".
The team behind the Open Mind Music Festival plans to develop this project further and make it the starting point for a large-scale BEON1X Art Cluster - a unique international socio-cultural project organized by representatives of the international business and IT community who have settled in Cyprus. The implementation of the BEON1X project will take place gradually over a period of three years, from 2022 to 2025, during which time the Art Cluster will become one of the largest socio-cultural centers in the world.
"The first step was the launch of the BEON1X Open Mind Music Fest, which we believe was more than successful. The next step will be the preparation of the base and infrastructure of the future cluster. In the meantime, we will start the renovation of an old winery in Limassol, which will be transformed into an art gallery and public space. And by the end of this year we will start the engineering and technical studies to implement the future environmental project to restore the coastline of the island - landscaping, strengthening the coastline, stopping soil erosion", - added Tata Andrews, project manager of BEON1X Art Cluster.
