S. Joon: New bag luxury with Persian roots
Designer Sahar Asvandi, who trained and graduated in contemporary dance, worked as a dance teacher and choreographer and founded the brand to complement her work.
After selling vintage and designer accessories online and realizing the demand for saddle bags, she turned to design and founded S.Joon. Her great love of dance continues to be the basis for her design approach and influences: Shapes of the human body and its movements. She focuses on creating clean edges and curves to create structured and elegant pieces that will stay in your closet beyond one season.
Craftmanship meets sustainability
Made in a small artisanal factory in the Veneto region of Italy, community, and craftsmanship are at the heart of S.Joon. The production process of the bags is proof of their quality. Sahar travels to Italy for this to work with artisans on new collections. "We care about the planet and believe that everything we produce should have as little impact on the environment as possible. Starting with the wearability of each piece, our bags are made to last, to keep, and to pass on," Sahar says.
S. Joon was selected as one of four hand-picked brands to participate in The Vanguard, NET-A-PORTER's long-term development and mentorship program for the Spring/Summer 20 season. NET-A-PORTER's global mentorship program, The Vanguard, nurtures emerging talent in the fashion industry by providing business development and support with a dedicated focus on diversity and inclusion.
There are many different models and shapes of bags: Mini Arc, Bao Bao bag, Tulip, Milk Pail, teardrop, Saddle Bag and many others, one for everyone.
The Tulip bag
A very special model is the Tulip Bag. The bag was born when Sahar was looking at some tulips friends had given her as a wedding gift. It can now be called the brand's masterpiece - and Rita Ora loves it too!
