Billie Eilish cruises for the new Gucci Eyewear Campaign

The American singer Billie Eilish is now the star of Alessandro Michele new Gucci's Eyewear AW 22 campaign.

Alessandro Michele, creative director of the Italian fashion house Gucci, has revealed the face of his latest Gucci Eyewear campaign: the one and only Billie Eilish.

The singer, who we can now consider one of the muses of creative director Alessandro Michele, is in fact the protagonist of an intriguing series of retro-looking images and videos dedicated to the latest Gucci Eyewear collection. Up to here, everything was normal, except that the advertising makes us experience a car trip with the typical atmosphere of a suspenseful film noir, which culminates precisely with the artist's dreamlike encounter with herself!

 

Gucci's codes are reinterpreted in these new eyewear silhouettes presented by Billie Eilish, who embodies, transforming and modernizing the classic, retro style of 1950s female icons.

The new collection takes inspiration from Hollywood stars with a vintage-inspired glam twist. Eclectic frames define women's glasses and sunglasses, from classic aviators to cat-eye models decorated with crystals. Prominent, flashy and super sought-after. The cat-eye silhouette is reimagined with bold angles and ray profiles.

The campaign reveals a cinematic atmosphere with an eye-catching film-noir aesthetic which can be seen through the images and video. The singer puts the pedal to the metal and drives around the windings roads in a pink car. She begins a scenic voyage through Los Angeles' Hills. There’s flashes of a blue motor coming close behind her, but is it really there, or is it just in her imagination?

Beyond the compelling storyline around which the campaign revolves, the shots fully portray Billie's unique style with contrasts of light and shadow, dynamic compositions and solid colors. At first she is seen wearing caravan-shaped sunglasses made of black acetate, while later she switches to a pink cat-eye design and an oversized, 1980s-style facemask model, which represent a reinterpretation of the fashion house's timeless aesthetic and evoke the retro vibe of the campaign.

Who is singer Billie Eilish? 

Billie Eilish, a pseudonym for Billie Eilish Pirate Barid O'Connell, was born on December 18, 2001, in Los Angeles. Little Billie, of Irish and Scottish descent, grows up in a family committed to the arts. Billie grew up in the Highland Parck neighborhood of Los Angeles, received her home schooling, and by the age of 6 was already performing in various talent shows, later joining the Los Angeles Children's Chorus in 2009. Thanks to her mother, who teaches both Billie and her brother Finneas the basics of writing musical lyrics, Billie at age 11 began singing songs she wrote. Success came like a wave in 2016, when her debut single Ocean Eyes was released.

From this point on, Billie's career will be on the rise. She gives audiences such songs as: Party Favor, Lovely, You Should See Me in a Crown and the hugely popular When the Party's Over. With a very personal look and style, Billie releases her second album in 2021 Happier Than Ever.
